Job summary

Caregiver, Inc. in Sugar Land, TX is seeking a Senior Area Director to lead across residential and day programs. This field-based role requires travel and focuses on compliance, quality outcomes, and operational performance.

Under the Regional VP, the SAD translates strategy into regional goals, mentors Area Directors, drives census growth, and ensures PDP/IPP-aligned, person-centered services while building strong teams and stakeholder relationships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Healthcare, or related field; Master’s preferred.
• Minimum 1 year direct experience supporting individuals with IDD.
• 3–5 years progressive leadership or supervisory experience.
• Experience with person-centered planning, IPPs, or PDPs preferred.
• Experience in regulatory surveys, audits, or inspections.

Responsibilities

• Support regional strategic planning, growth initiatives, and community engagement.
• Translate corporate objectives into actionable regional goals with accountability.
• Mentor and coach Area Directors and Day Program Managers.
• Support census growth, marketing efforts, and external stakeholder relationships.
• Conduct monthly site visits to assess safety and policy compliance.
• Drive corrective actions and survey readiness.
• Oversee staffing, scheduling, payroll accuracy, overtime reduction, credential compliance.
• Recruit, interview, onboard, and train new hires.
• Partner with HR on investigations and performance management.
• Coordinate IDT meetings and participate in inspections.
• Oversee rights restrictions, trust fund approvals, inventory, and service utilization.
• Analyze incident trends and inform care delivery improvements.
• Collaborate with QA, HR, Clinical, Operations to drive compliance.

We are seeking a Senior Area Director to provide hands-on leadership, oversight, and strategic execution across assigned residential and/or day program services. This field-based role plays a critical part in driving compliance, quality outcomes, operational performance, and team development across multiple markets.

Position Summary

Under the direction of the Regional Vice President (RVP), the Senior Area Director ensures safe, compliant, and high-quality service delivery across assigned programs (group homes, host homes, and/or day programs). This leader translates organizational strategy into measurable regional outcomes while maintaining a reduced caseload to focus on leadership responsibilities.

The SAD serves as a regional mentor and operational partner to Area Directors and Day Program Managers, fostering consistency, collaboration, census growth, and excellence in person-centered services.

This role requires regular on-site visits within assigned markets.

What You’ll Do

Leadership & Strategy

• Support regional strategic planning, growth initiatives, and community engagement in partnership with cross-functional leaders.
  
• Translate corporate objectives into actionable regional goals with clear accountability and timelines.
  
• Mentor and coach Area Directors and Day Program Managers to strengthen leadership bench and operational consistency.
  
• Support census growth, marketing efforts, and external stakeholder relationships.
  

Operational & Program Oversight

• Conduct monthly site visits to residential and day program locations to assess environmental conditions, life safety compliance, and adherence to policies and procedures.
  
• Drive corrective actions and ensure survey/audit readiness at all times.
  
• Oversee staffing performance, scheduling, payroll accuracy, overtime reduction, and workforce credential compliance.
  
• Recruit, interview, onboard, and ensure effective training and orientation of new hires.
  
• Partner with HR on employee investigations and performance management processes.
  

Quality, Compliance & Clinical Oversight

• Ensure services align with each individual’s Person-Directed Plan (PDP) and Individual Program Plan (IPP).
  
• Monitor progress toward goals, identify regression or progression trends, and recommend plan adjustments or clinical interventions.
  
• Coordinate and document Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) meetings.
  
• Participate in regulatory surveys/inspections and develop plans of correction when needed.
  
• Oversee rights restrictions, trust fund approvals, inventory compliance, and service utilization monitoring.
  
• Support incident follow-up and analyze trends impacting care delivery.
  

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner with Quality Assurance, HR, Clinical, and Operations teams to drive compliance and performance.
  
• Facilitate seamless client onboarding and support case management efforts.
  
• Collaborate with service coordinators, healthcare providers, and behavioral health partners to ensure integrated, person-centered support.
  
• Support temporary and permanent move processes to ensure continuity of care.
