Job summary

Milrose Consultants, LLC is seeking an Architectural Specifications Writer for a remote, full-time role. You will support development of construction contract specifications and provide technical guidance for architectural documentation, collaborating with project architects and the design team.

The position requires 10+ years of experience with architectural specifications, strong communication, and knowledge of MasterFormat, building codes, and construction methods.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10+ years of experience preparing architectural specifications.
• Experience in Construction Administration, including project startup through closeout.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong organization and analytical capabilities.
• Strong understanding of construction materials and methods, building codes, regulations, industry standards, MasterFormat, and project delivery methods.
• Ability to self-organize and manage multiple projects and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing contract specifications based on the design direction and guidance from the Architect.
• Evaluate and recommend alternative materials and systems with written commentary.
• Prepare preliminary written addenda to clarify or complete specifications.
• Stay current with new building products, system developments, code changes, and industry trends.
• Prepare and send coordination memos outlining required information from project team members.
• Provide clarification on issued specification documents during design and construction phases.
