Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture or Construction Management preferred.
• CSI CCS credential required.
• 10+ years of experience in architecture/construction focusing on specification writing.
• Strong knowledge of building codes (IBC, ADA, ASTM).
• Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, and specification software.
• Experience with project documentation and construction administration.

Responsibilities

• Develop and organize written specifications defining materials, products, and workmanship for construction projects.
• Ensure specifications align with the project's design intent, codes, and regulations.
• Work closely with architects, engineers, and consultants to reflect design decisions in specifications.
• Resolve discrepancies between drawings and specifications.
• Maintain up-to-date specification documents throughout project phases (schematic design, design development, construction documents).
• Track revisions and distribute updated specifications to relevant stakeholders.
• Assist in bid documents, addenda, and contract requirements related to project specifications.
• Support architects and project managers in ensuring that specification requirements are integrated with the overall project scope and schedule.
