Job summary

Karman is seeking a technical leader to own KDE simulation platform architecture, spanning real-time and batch execution, data routing, deterministic replay, and platform APIs. You will guide engineering, QA, product, hardware, and GTM to ensure scalable, deterministic simulation for AI data centers.

The role combines hands-on architecture with people leadership, building and mentoring a team while traveling up to 25% to collaborate with the HQ in Ann Arbor and customer sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, or a related field
• 10+ years in systems architecture, real-time or hardware-in-the-loop systems
• Hands-on leader of small engineering teams
• Experience designing simulation platforms and APIs used by multiple teams

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end architecture of KDE as the simulation platform for development, testing, and validation.
• Architect systems spanning heterogeneous time domains with deterministic behavior across real-time and batch modes.
• Design and evolve the core simulation platform: time synchronization, data routing, deterministic replay, APIs and data contracts.
• Define and maintain the platform's performance envelope and lead full-stack optimization.
• Serve as the technical authority for simulation and validation with cross-functional teams.
• Build and lead an engineering team spanning real-time systems, simulation infra, power modeling, and GPU calibration.
• Represent KDE on cross-functional council, arbitrate priorities across customers and architecture direction.
