Job summary

Charles Schwab Corporation is seeking a Distinguished Engineer in Customer Experience Technology (CET) to advance the digital client experience across retail web and mobile platforms. The role focuses on driving technology strategy, architecture, and implementation in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with strong emphasis on security, observability, and scalable AI capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 15+ years of software engineering and architecture experience.
• Experience designing or governing AI-enabled digital experiences (generative/conversational AI, AI search, personalization).
• Strong understanding of responsible AI: evaluation, grounding, privacy, observability, auditability, risk controls.

Responsibilities

• Drive technical strategy for retail web and mobile platforms within CET ecosystem.
• Provide architectural guidance across CET platforms supporting sales, marketing, and customer support.
• Lead cross-functional engineering teams to solve complex issues for online customers.
• Review design, architecture, and code produced by other engineers.
• Elevate engineering quality and governance through architectural oversight.
• Mentor and train team members on design techniques and coding standards.
