Job summary

Charles Schwab seeks a Chief Architect for RBCT to provide senior architectural leadership across a broad portfolio, guiding modernization efforts and aligning technology decisions with business outcomes. You will mentor engineers, shape enterprise standards, and collaborate with senior leaders to ensure scalable, well-governed architecture.

You will influence decisions beyond boundaries, create blueprints, and drive strategic technology initiatives in a demanding, on-site environment at Schwab

Qualifications

• Proven ability to lead complex, large enterprise architectural initiatives across multiple teams, domains, or business areas.
• Experience architecting systems for availability, disaster recovery, observability, performance, scalability, and incident prevention across mission-critical platforms.
• Demonstrated accountability for modernization strategies and blueprints, executed as designed.
• Experience providing feedback and ongoing guidance to fine-tune systems based on real-world scenarios.
• Experience analyzing current vs. target state capability gaps and formulating domain level technology strategies.
• Experience building a community of practice across architects and technical leaders.

Responsibilities

• Ensure technology decisions align with business outcomes, risk tolerance, and operational excellence.
