Job summary

Onyx Creative in Houston seeks a licensed architect to lead complex design efforts and coordinate with consultants on multiple projects. You will prepare design drawings, develop scope and fees, and act as a client liaison to secure future work.

The role requires 10 years in architecture, TX licensure, and proficiency with AutoCAD/REVIT, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite. Independent work and mentoring staff are essential.

Qualifications

• Master’s or bachelor’s degree in architecture required.
• Texas professional license required.
• Experience with commercial projects in retail/industrial/multifamily sectors.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD or REVIT, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite and MS Office.
• Strong design creativity and advanced technical knowledge.
• Ability to work independently and mentor staff.

Responsibilities

• Attend design reviews and present at community meetings.
• Coordinate with agencies, municipalities, and consultants.
• Lead architectural design for complex projects within budget and schedule.
• Develop project scope, fees, contracts, and ensure sign-offs.
• Manage client relationships and pursue new work opportunities.
• Mentor staff in project management, code review, and QC.
