Job summary

Stitch Fix is seeking a Distinguished Architect to set the technical direction for our future platform. You will guide architectural investments across product engineering, data, platform, and security to create scalable, secure, and observable systems while aligning with business strategy.

You will collaborate with CPTO and executives to balance delivery speed with long-term platform health, driving modernization and developer productivity with an emphasis on AI-enabled experiences.

Qualifications

• Deep, hands-on technical leadership experience in complex digital, e-commerce, or consumer tech environments.
• Experience modernizing legacy foundations while preserving reliability and client trust.
• Fluency in cloud-native engineering, APIs and event-driven integration, data platforms, AI foundations, security, and developer productivity.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve enterprise technology architecture tied to business strategy and product roadmap.
• Translate priorities into architectural choices and roadmaps balancing speed, scalability, security, and cost.
• Partner with product engineering to ensure durable, reusable foundations for client-facing and internal systems.
• Lead architecture governance with clear decision rights and reference architectures.
• Identify systemic risks and modernization needs, including resilience, data integration, and cost efficiency.
• Communicate strategy and trade-offs to executives in business terms.
