Job summary

BSI Engineering in Oak Brook, IL seeks an Architect to lead design for client buildings, from concept through construction documents, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure informed, accurate deliverables.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Architectural Engineering.
• 5-10 years of post-graduate architectural experience.
• Proficient in Revit and BIM workflows.
• Experience in industrial, pharmaceutical or GMP environments preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and presentations.
• Ability to lead and manage multiple tasks and teams.
• Solid knowledge of building codes and life-safety practices.
• Proficient with AutoCAD, ACC, and 3D modeling tools.

Responsibilities

• Researches, programs, plans, designs, and administers building projects for clients, applying knowledge of architectural design, construction detailing, construction procedures, zoning, building codes, building materials and systems
• Contributes to development of discipline scope, deliverables, assumptions, and estimates budget for proposals
• Ensures quality and technical accuracy of project deliverables
• Prepares and presents design proposals to Clients
• Verifies discipline's design is accurate and coordinated within the 3D model and/or site scans
• Delegates work and supervises Designers on a project
• Provides clear direction to team regarding project scope, schedule, budget and expectations of quality
• Inspecting sites and examining buildings to evaluate conditions
• Plans and programs layout of project(s); coordinates and integrates engineering elements into a unified design for client review and approval
• Has a good working knowledge of Building Codes
• Considers other disciplines and overall project requirements during the project lifecycle
• Identifies and communicates scope change for discipline
• Participates in interactive planning sessions to ensure scope, schedule, costs and quality are aligned to project objectives
