Job summary

Qualifications

• A valid New York State Registration as an Architect.
• Experience as a major contributor or project leader on a complex project within the last three years.
• - In addition to above qualification requirements, to be eligible for placement in Assignment Levels II and III, individuals must have at least one year within the last three years of experience as a major contributor or a project leader on a complex project requiring additional and specific expertise.

Responsibilities

• Perform all difficult and responsible architectural work for the Agency’s construction program.
• Develop project scope and preliminary cost estimates.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Review construction/consultant contracts for scope compliance and architectural plans.
• Coordinate with consultants and/or in-house staff and manage projects from conception to completion.
• Prepare sketches and layouts; research improved building materials and systems.
• Participate in substantial completion inspections and prepare punch lists.
• Sign and seal architectural documents; interpret Building Code and Zoning Resolution for non-technical staff.
• File projects with DOB/DEP/CPC/FDNY to meet initiatives.
