Job summary

City of New York is seeking an Architect II to perform high-level architectural work for the Department of Social Services and its related agencies. The role requires NYS registration and the ability to manage multiple capital projects from design through completion.

Preferred skills include AutoCAD, REVIT, and proficiency with Microsoft Office and Bluebeam. The position follows a 8pm-4pm schedule and may involve complex project leadership.

Qualifications

• A valid New York State Registration as an Architect is required and must be maintained for the duration of employment.
• Experience as a major contributor or project leader on a complex project within the last three years is required for Assignment Levels II/III.

Responsibilities

• Perform architectural work for the Agency’s construction program.
• Develop project scope and preliminary cost estimates.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Review contracts for scope and architectural plans.
• Coordinate with consultants and staff from conception to completion.
• Prepare sketches and evaluate materials for capital programs.
• Participate in substantial completion inspections and prepare punch lists.
• Sign and seal official documents; interpret Building Code and Zoning Resolution.
• File projects with DOB, DEP, CPC, and FDNY to meet initiatives.
