Job summary

Staples, Inc. in Framingham, MA invites a Senior Architect I to lead enterprise-scale architecture initiatives across cloud, APIs, data, and integrations, mentoring teams and shaping technology strategy.

You will define target-state architectures, govern standards, evaluate solutions for scalability, security, and cost, and collaborate with engineering, product, and business stakeholders to advance customer experience platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years in software engineering or enterprise architecture.
• 3+ years designing enterprise-scale apps, integrations, APIs, or cloud solutions.
• Experience with enterprise architecture frameworks and distributed systems.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, or similar clouds.
• Experience leading cross-functional technical initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture and technical design for enterprise-wide technology initiatives.
• Develop target-state architectures, reference models, standards, and reusable patterns.
• Define application, integration, API, cloud, and data architecture strategies.
• Evaluate technology solutions for scalability, reliability, security, and cost.
• Design and govern enterprise integrations, APIs, event-driven architectures, and SOA.
• Partner with engineering to guide implementation and ensure compliance.
• Assess emerging technologies including generative AI and automation.
• Support CX, CRM, contact center, and omnichannel engagement tech.
• Lead architecture reviews, PoCs, and governance forums.
• Mentor architects and engineers, promoting best practices.
