Job summary

City of Dallas is seeking a Senior Architect to manage design and construction for large-scale Capital Improvement projects across the City. You will lead architectural design, cost estimation, and coordination with consultants to ensure compliant, timely delivery of buildings and systems.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, licensure, and 4+ years of experience; you will oversee budgets, schedules, and project close-out, working with diverse internal stakeholders to meet city

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture from an accredited university.
• Four (4) years of licensed architect experience including familiarity with construction cost estimating, CAD drafting, project administration, project scheduling.
• Valid driver's license and current architecture license per Texas Board or NCARB.
• Must pass TSA background check and meet all qualification notations in the posting.

Responsibilities

• Directs architectural design process on renovation and new construction projects; manages design consultant selection and budgeting.
• Reviews designs for code compliance and maintains permit-ready documents; develops project schedules and manages scope and budget.
• Manages construction and implementation; coordinates construction documents for bid; oversees award process with design consultants.
• Reviews consultant invoices and pay applications; maintains audit-ready records; manages close-out and occupancy turnover.
• Serves as resource to tenants and developers on City of Dallas projects; handles information requests for permits and approvals.
• Supervises subordinates and interns; monitors timesheets, performance, and training.
• Drafts and presents reports on scope, schedule, budget, and status.
• Coordinates with internal stakeholders on emergency management, security, IT, operations, and facilities management.
