Job summary

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is seeking an engineering leader to own and evolve the E2E assurance architecture for large distributed systems. You will define a common substrate model and architect multi-agent orchestration across domains, while enforcing safety and governance.

The role requires deep networking expertise and a strong AI/ML background. You will mentor senior engineers, influence executive stakeholders, and drive cross-business collaboration to advance the substrate strategy.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in engineering and architectural leadership building and operating large distributed systems.
• Breadth across networking domains (campus, data center, WAN/SD-WAN, security) with depth in 3+ domains.
• Deep networking fundamentals (EVPN-VXLAN, BGP, SAI behavior, overlay/underlay, policy enforcement).
• Graph systems depth and property graph modeling for dependency and causality.
• Applied AI with LLM agents, tool calling, MCP, and ML/time-series modeling.
• Production AIOps/observability experience and strong Python/Go coding.

Responsibilities

• Own the E2E assurance architecture across domains and verify outcomes.
• Define a shared substrate model spanning intent, topology, config, identity, and policy.
• Architect agentic layer: planning tools, MCP servers, and multi-agent orchestration.
• Own safety architecture with gates, policy enforcement, and deterministic rollback.
• Guide use of graph reasoning, ML, or generative AI appropriately.
• Establish evaluation discipline with fault corpora, incident harnesses, MTTR metrics.
• Influence executives and product teams to align on a single substrate.
• Mentor engineers and develop principal and distinguished technical leaders.
