Job summary

Wilson Butler Architects in Boston's Financial District seeks a Senior Architect or Project Manager with at least 12 years of professional experience to lead complex arts and entertainment projects from concept through construction.

The ideal candidate holds a NAAB-accredited architecture degree, is licensed, proficient in Revit, and excels in design leadership, documentation coordination, and mentoring junior staff; strong communication and collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

  • Holds a professional degree in Architecture from a NAAB accredited program.
  • 12+ years of experience in a professional office.
  • Professional architectural licensure.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience guiding design concepts in a collaborative studio.
  • Experience managing and mentoring internal junior staff and coordinating external consultants.

Responsibilities

  • Lead or drive design concepts across complex project typologies.
  • Develop and coordinate project documentation, construction plans, and details in Revit.
  • Guide projects from conceptual design through completion, including management of external consultants.
  • Provide quality control/quality assurance during project delivery and Construction Administration.
  • Mentor and coordinate internal staff and project teams.
  • Collaborate with clients, consultants, and stakeholders to achieve project goals.

Wilson Butler Architects is an innovative and collaborative design studio specializing in arts and entertainment experiences. Our award-winning portfolio features projects ranging from historic theater restorations; to state-of-the-art performing arts centers; to planning and designing the most cutting-edge vessels in the cruise ship industry. The firm's open studio environment encourages a fun and creative process on unique project typologies.

We are located in Boston's Financial District overlooking Post Office Square.

Our studio is growing and we are seeking a Senior Architect or Project Manager with a minimum of 12 years experience to join our team!

Requirements
  • Holds a professional degree in Architecture from a NAAB accredited program
  • 12+ years of experience working in a professional office
  • Professional architectural licensure
  • Has strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience working in a collaborative studio environment with teams of varying sizes, leading or driving design concepts.
  • Experience guiding significant aspects of projects from conceptual design through project completion, including management/mentoring of internal junior design staff and coordination and management of external design consultants
  • Advanced understanding of building/accessibility codes and requirements
  • Ability to provide quality control/quality assurance during project delivery
  • Experience in Construction Administration, reviewing construction progress at jobsites ensuring conformance to contract documents
  • Must be highly proficient in Revit
  • Knowledge with Adobe Creative Suite preferred
Benefits

Salary commensurate with experience. The compensation range for this role is $115,000 to $130,000.
