Studio Luz Architects in Boston is seeking a Senior Project Architect with 8+ years of professional architectural experience to lead design and construction administration on a range of projects, including public and private clients.

You will mentor teams, develop BIM standards, and collaborate with Principals to deliver high-quality documentation and detailing across phases, from feasibility to construction.

About the Position:

We are seeking a Senior Project Architect to join us at our Boston office! This position is for a creative individual with at least 8+ years of professional experience in architectural practice, technical construction detailing, project management, and construction administration for various projects including the work with public agencies. The position also involves developing, documenting and maintaining firm-wide BIM standards, templates, workflows and best practices. Responsibilities will include working closely with the Firm'8s Principals and colleagues, mentoring, managing, and working with the project teams on diverse project types. This position entails opportunities to work with municipal clients, community members, and make public presentations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design & Project Leadership
  • Drive the architectural design process across all phases of design, from feasibility and conceptualization through successful technical execution. This includes projects of various typologies, including new multi-family residential, educational,and commercial projects.
  • Lead community engagement and deliver compelling public presentations for various client groups.
• Technical Execution & Mentorship
  • Conduct comprehensive QA/QC review of drawings and specifications at appropriate intervals throughout the design process and during construction.
  • Support and mentor junior staff in building code analysis, technical detailing, and best practices.
• Digital Design Practice & BIM Strategy
  • Leverage emergent design technologies to evolve and optimize design workflows, facilitate complex geometric modeling, and enhance visualization.
  • Lead and collaborate on the firm’s long-term BIM strategy, including contributing to the evolution of BIM standards, templates, and SOPS.
  • Perform model audits and troubleshooting with team members, including recommendations that ensure data security and optimize performance.
  • Proficiency with Revit and Rhino: experience with Bluebeam, Enscape, Lumion, Twinmotion, or Grasshopper is a strong plus. Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, In-Design)

Qualifications:

• Professional degree in Architecture (BArch or MArch)
• 8+ years of professional architectural experience, demonstrating a strong track record of guiding projects from conceptual design through construction administration.
• Proficiency & experience with at least 4 years of Revit, managing model templates and families, and coordination with multiple consultants in all phases of a project’s development.
• Strong critical thinking skills, and ability to translate design concepts from inspiration to realization.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented team-player.
• Excellent graphic presentation, public speaking, and written communication skills.
• Licensure or on the path to licensure preferred.
• Experience working with both private and public agencies is desirable.
