Job summary

Whitman, Requardt & Associates, LLP (WRA) seeks a highly experienced architect to lead design development, documentation and project delivery in a fast-paced studio. You will mentor junior staff, manage scope and budgets, and interface with clients and regulators to ensure quality outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Accredited Professional Degree in Architecture (Bachelor or Master)
  • 16+ years of relevant experience required
  • Strong design and technical skills for superior architecture
  • Experience with design development, documentation and project delivery
  • Proficient with AutoCAD and Revit; strong in graphics tools

Responsibilities

  • Participate in and lead various phases of architectural projects, including design development, construction documentation, and construction administration.
  • Collaborate in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment with in-house and external teams.
  • Manage project scope, budget, and schedule under guidance of senior architects or project managers.
  • Contribute to project design through sketches, 3D modeling, and development of creative solutions.
  • Interface with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Conduct code analysis, material research, and specification writing.
  • Mentor junior staff and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
  • Support business development through proposal input and project presentations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in and lead various phases of architectural projects, including design development, construction documentation, and construction administration.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment with in-house disciplines and external consultants.
  • Manage project scope, budget, and schedule under the guidance of senior architects or project managers.
  • Contribute to project design through sketches, 3D modeling, and development of creative, practical solutions.
  • Interface with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Conduct code analysis, material research, and specification writing.
  • Mentor junior staff and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
  • Support business development activities through proposal input and project presentations, as needed.

Requirements:

  • Accredited Professional Degree in Architecture required (Bachelor or Master of Architecture)
  • 16+ years of relevant experience required
  • Candidate must possess both excellent design and technical skills; and be motivated to apply those skills to the development of superior architecture.
  • Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Experience in creating interesting and engaging graphics for building design presentations is vital.
  • Candidates should be self-motivated, detail-oriented and thorough in their desire to provide exceptional client service.
  • Some limited project related travel possible; within 400 miles
  • Proficient in AutoCAD™ and Revit™
  • Proficient with Microsoft Project, Excel and Word
  • Substantial experience in construction documentation and building detailing required
  • Experience with Illustrator, Photoshop, Sketchup, and other graphics programs desirable

The expected annual compensation range for this position is $160,000.00 - $240,000.00. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience.
