Job summary

DelDOT Transportation Solutions Division is seeking an Environmental Specialist III to lead archaeological surveys and manage related fieldwork, lab work, and reporting for state projects. The role includes coordinating with state and federal agencies and overseeing consultant activities.

The candidate should have a master’s degree in Archaeology or a closely related field and be familiar with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act, including 36 CFR Part 800.

Qualifications

• Possession of a Master's degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or closely related field.
• Knowledge of Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act and the implementing regulations under 36 CFR Part 800.

Responsibilities

• Performs environmental specialist work in an environmental specialty area including archaeology sites.
• Coordinating with agencies and stakeholders to incorporate environmental and sociocultural considerations into project activities.
• Prepares technical reports and documentation on consultation efforts and permits.
• Coordinates with regulatory agencies to obtain necessary permits and ensure project delivery.
