Job summary

ERM is seeking a Managing Technical Consultant, Archaeologist to lead multidisciplinary cultural resources projects across the United States. You will oversee field surveys, literature reviews, and excavation efforts while guiding teams and coordinating with clients and regulators.

This senior role emphasizes technical excellence, business development, and mentoring, with responsibilities spanning project delivery, proposal development, and cross-office collaboration within ERM's global

Qualifications

Graduate degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, or related field plus 8+ years of paid experience.
Ability to obtain archaeological permits and conduct inventory/surveys.
Experience authoring agency-reviewed technical reports.
Strong attention to detail and regulatory knowledge (FERC, USACE, THC).
Excellent communication and business development skills.

Responsibilities

Oversee literature review, field reconnaissance, field surveys, and excavation for studies and projects.
Provide technical consulting to support ERM's archaeology and cultural heritage growth.
Interact with ERM practice areas to share multidisciplinary resources.
Represent ERM to state, federal, and local agencies.
Communicate regularly with clients via email and calls.
Oversee and manage subcontractors and field teams.
Assist with proposals to meet client needs.
Manage multiple projects within scope, budget, and schedule.
