Job summary

Stantec is seeking a senior cultural resources leader to guide NEPA analyses, technical studies, and project permitting across the western U.S. You will lead large cultural resources projects, mentor staff, and drive business development while ensuring rigorous, high-quality outputs.

Ideal candidates hold an MS in cultural resources or archaeology, 10+ years of leadership in Phase I/II surveys, and permitting experience on federal/state lands. Travel and fieldwork are expected in this role.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years supervisory, management, and team-oriented experience in consulting (10–15 years).
• Experience leading Phase I and II Cultural Resource surveys in the southwest.
• Knowledge of Determinations of Eligibility for NRHP and California Register.
• Permitting on State and Federal Lands in AZ/NM, or ability to obtain within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Lead cultural resources projects and business development.
• Mentor and supervise staff and grow SW-based team.
• Program management and financial management for key client programs.
• Ensuring delivery of high-quality technical products through quality reviews.
• Lead proposals, including scope, budget, and schedule.
• Maintain professional profile externally through org memberships.
• Represent cultural resources strategy and growth in the southwestern market.
