Job summary
Cotswold Archaeology is seeking Experienced Archaeologists to join field teams in Andover. The role involves undertaking field investigations, recording data, and working away on projects with accommodation provided. Immediate start dates on six-month contracts are available, with a strong emphasis on health and safety and professional development.
Salary begins at £29,844 per year with extensive benefits. Applicants should have proven commercial field experience and be able to operate Leica GPS
Qualifications
- Experience in commercial archaeological fieldwork.
- Proven ability to supervise machine excavation.
- Full manual driving licence; 4x4 driving experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Undertake archaeological field investigations under the direction of a Project Leader.
- Record data using pro-forma sheets, scale drawings and photographs.
- Recover artefacts and environmental samples per CA procedures.
- Undertake machine supervision and survey duties as delegated by the Project Leader.
- Mentor less experienced staff and contribute to training.
- Carry out rapid manual excavation and accurate recording of data.
