Job summary

EWI Recruitment seeks a capable Mid/Senior-level Archaeologist to join a professional heritage and environmental team delivering projects across a varied programme. You will contribute to planning, coordination and delivery of archaeological investigations for development, infrastructure and conservation schemes.

You will lead or support fieldwork, prepare documentation, supervise teams and manage client relationships, ensuring work is completed safely and to standards.

Qualifications

• Relevant degree or equivalent qualification in archaeology.
• Demonstrable professional experience in commercial or research-led archaeological practice.
• Strong understanding of archaeological methods, legislation, planning processes and guidance.
• Ability to communicate clearly with colleagues, clients, regulators and contractors.

Responsibilities

• Lead or support fieldwork such as evaluations, excavations, watching briefs and building recording.
• Prepare and review archaeological documentation including written schemes of investigation and risk assessments.
• Supervise field teams, coordinate subcontractors, monitor quality and manage data.
• Interpret results, contribute to post-excavation assessments and present findings to clients and stakeholders.
