Job summary

SMTC Corporation seeks a Senior Accounts Receivable Specialist in Melbourne, FL to manage complex AR activities, ensure timely cash collection, and support month-end close. The role collaborates with Program Management, Sales, Treasury, and Finance to drive accuracy and cash flow.

Ideal candidates will have 5+ years in AR, strong billing/dispute resolution skills, ERP experience, and a track record of improving collections performance in a manufacturing/EMS environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred or equivalent
• Minimum of five (5) years of progressive Accounts Receivable, collections, cash application, or related experience
• Experience independently managing complex customer accounts, collections, aging, reconciliations, and dispute resolution
• Experience supporting month-end close, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and internal controls
• Experience utilizing ERP and financial systems and working with cross-functional business partners

Responsibilities

• Manage assigned customer accounts and complex receivables, including balances, payment activity, aging, disputes, and obligations.
• Perform advanced collection activities to resolve delinquent balances and improve payment performance.
• Analyze AR aging and payment trends to identify risks and escalation needs.
• Research and resolve complex billing discrepancies, short payments, unapplied cash, and credits.
• Lead resolution of escalated AR issues with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Prepare and analyze AR reports and support month-end close and internal control requirements.
