Job summary

Walman Optical in Minneapolis is seeking a Sr Production Technician to oversee the Anti-Reflective (AR) coating process, operate large-capacity AR coating machines, perform daily maintenance, and inspect lenses to ensure cosmetic and optical quality.

This role requires strict adherence to safety and company policies, keeping accurate logs, troubleshooting equipment with supervision, and training less experienced staff while supporting continuous improvement and timely production.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent work experience.
• 3+ years of manufacturing experience.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Operate large-capacity AR coating machines and maintain vacuum coating chambers.
• Inspect lenses for accuracy and cosmetic defects; log issues.
• Load lenses, select recipes, and manage coating processes.
• Perform maintenance, parts change-outs and quality testing on finished products.
• Log processes and maintenance accurately; assist with training and process improvements.
