Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Houston invites applications for a Lifeguard Supervisor position. This role provides leadership in maintaining safe swimming conditions, enforces safety rules, and ensures lifeguards perform essential duties during shifts to promote member safety and youth development.

Responsibilities include emergency response, pool maintenance, record-keeping, and supervising staff. Candidates must hold current lifeguard certification and obtain YMCA Lifeguard certification within 30 days;

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Minimum of one year Lifeguard experience.
• Current YMCA Lifeguard or Red Cross Lifeguard certification or obtain YMCA Lifeguard within 30 days of hire.
• Must obtain BLS for Healthcare Providers (CPR), First Aid and AED, prior to first shift.
• Lifeguard Supervisor certification must be obtained prior to first shift.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safe swimming conditions and enforce pool safety rules.
• Perform pool maintenance and chemical testing; ensure cleanliness and safety.
• Respond to emergencies immediately and follow YMCA procedures.
• Lead and guide other lifeguards during shifts.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings as required.
