Job summary

State of Colorado’s Department of Human Services is seeking an Associate Director for Adult Protective Services in Colorado. You will provide strategic governance, oversee the CAPS data system, and translate policy into operational workflows across 64 counties.

This role leads policy development, budget oversight, and staff supervision, partnering with other agencies to advance elder and vulnerable adult protections, while ensuring program integrity and data security in a complex state-wide

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a field related to social/human services, public policy, or administration is required.
• Five years of professional experience in a related field such as social services, policy writing, or program administration.
• Substitutions: relevant experience may substitute for degree; education may substitute for some experience.

Responsibilities

• Support APS Program Director with policy and best practice development for the APS program across statewide county departments.
• Oversee the CAPS data system, CCU operations, and budget to ensure data integrity and security.
• Provide supervision, performance reviews, and staff development for APS section personnel and contract staff.
• Lead coordination with other agencies and divisions to implement legislative changes and improve program outcomes.
