Job summary

State of Georgia is seeking an Adult Protective Services Case Manager (APS Investigator–Lead Worker) in Columbus to lead investigations, assess risk, and coordinate protective services for vulnerable adults. Daily travel may be required across several counties.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with one year related experience; OR two years of experience at lower level APS CM 2 (SSP171) or equivalent.
• Experience in APS investigations, crisis intervention, or related fields is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct initial investigations of protective service reports for APS cases meeting criteria.
• Assess risk and determine necessary interventions to protect clients.
• Provide follow-up and connect clients with services to stabilize situations.
• Initiate guardianship processes when necessary for incapacitated adults.
• Maintain detailed documentation and reporting in a timely manner.
• Mentor staff and provide on-the-job training and guidance.
