Job summary

The Georgia Department of Human Services is seeking an Adult Protective Services Case Manager 2 in Dalton, GA. You will conduct initial investigations of protective service reports, assess risk to clients, and coordinate interventions to protect vulnerable adults across several counties.

This role requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, includes a comprehensive benefits package, and may involve travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; OR one year of experience at lower-level Adult Protective Services CM 1 (SSP170) or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Performs initial investigations of protective service reports for APS criteria and determines appropriateness of intervention.
• Evaluates the level of risk to clients and takes action to ensure safety.
• Provides follow-up, consultations and resources to stabilize situations and prevent recurrence of abuse/neglect/exploitation.
• Initiates the legal process for guardianship as a last resort for protection of incapacitated adults.
• Maintains required documentation and completes reports within standards of promptness.
• Keeps knowledge of current policies, laws, trends and developments by attending trainings.
• Performs other professional responsibilities as assigned.
