Job summary

State of Georgia seeks an Adult Protective Services Case Manager 2 to perform initial investigations, assess risk, and provide follow-up resources to stabilize vulnerable adults and prevent reoccurrence of abuse. The role covers Valdosta and surrounding counties, requiring strong judgment and collaborative teamwork.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) and demonstrate excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; OR one year of experience at lower-level Adult Protective Services Case Manager 1 (SSP170) or equivalent.
• Excellent oral, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Demonstrates ability to work collaboratively across teams and departments.

Responsibilities

• Performs initial investigations of protective service reports and determines appropriateness of intervention.
• Evaluates risk to clients and ensures safety.
• Provides follow-up, consultations and resources to stabilize the situation.
• Initiates guardianship process as a last resort for incapacitated adults.
