Job summary

BMO Financial Group is seeking a senior analyst to independently examine appraisals and evaluations for adherence to policies and procedures, assess the credibility and reasonableness of value conclusions for substandard borrowers, and document results with actionable recommendations.

The role is hybrid, with multiple days per week onsite, and requires 5–7 years of relevant experience, deep knowledge of credit portfolio management, and strong analytical and communication skills to support risk

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field or equivalent
• Credit qualifications and associated credit knowledge per qualification standards
• In-depth knowledge of banking products & services
• In-depth knowledge of industry trends and regulations
• In-depth knowledge of credit portfolio management policies & procedures, and financing guidelines
• Proven leadership and coaching skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Collaborative and team-oriented mindset
• Analytical and problem-solving capabilities
• Data-driven decision-making abilities

Responsibilities

• Examine appraisals and evaluations for adherence to policies and standards
• Assess credibility and reasonableness of appraisal conclusions for substandard and impaired borrowers
• Document and report review results, and propose action plans
• Identify required corrective actions and escalate as needed
• Support with independently prepared valuations of substandard borrowers
• Hybrid role with multiple days onsite per week (subject to change)
• Contribute to policy development and implementation
• Provide technical expertise and act as a go-to for the team
• Coordinate workflow and manage exception requests
• Perform financial analysis of customer and account information to provide insights
• Maintain knowledge of lending issues, loan structure, collateral, foreclosure, bankruptcy and regulations
• Build relationships with internal/external stakeholders and prepare regular/ad-hoc reports and dashboards
