Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC is seeking a Principal Applied Scientist for the Advertiser Guidance team to lead a large group of builders in developing agentic AI experiences for Amazon advertisers. You will define the scientific roadmap and drive research for recommendations and guidance across channels, ensuring safety and reliability at scale.

You will advance methods for fine-tuning, reinforcement learning, and preference optimization while mentoring talent and communicating results to leadership

Qualifications

• PhD in Computer Science, Statistics or related field.
• 5+ years of applied ML experience in building customer-facing recommender systems involving AI, ML, and NLP.
• Hands-on experience with designing and prototyping AI solutions for real world applications.

Responsibilities

• Lead 50+ builders in pioneering agentic AI applications for Amazon advertisers.
• Define and lead the science roadmap for agentic experiences across multiple channels.
• Develop methods for fine-tuning, RL, and preference optimization with safety at scale.
• Mentor Applied AI talent and communicate learnings to leadership.
