Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC is seeking an Applied Scientist to pioneer agentic AI for Amazon advertisers. You will design agentic architectures, build tools and datasets, and enable systems that autonomously research advertiser portfolios and optimize campaigns without human direction.

You will work with scientists, engineers, and product managers to bring innovations into production, focusing on multi-step reasoning, AI/ML methods, and evaluation frameworks that ensure accuracy and trust at scale.

Qualifications

• PhD or Master’s degree with 4+ years of CS/CE/ML or related field experience.
• 3+ years of building models for business applications.
• Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language.
• Experience in designing experiments and statistical analysis of results.
• Experience with AI/ML technologies.

Responsibilities

• Design and build agents for Sponsored Products.
• Design and implement model and agent optimization techniques (e.g., fine-tuning, instruction tuning, preference optimization).
• Curate datasets for model training and evaluation; develop tools for agentic workflows.
• Build evaluation pipelines for agent workflows, benchmarks and safety guardrails.
• Develop agentic architectures (e.g., CoT, ToT, ReAct) integrating planning and long-horizon reasoning.
• Prototype and iterate on multi-agent orchestration frameworks and workflows.
• Collaborate with engineers and product managers to bring innovations into production.
• Stay current with LLMs, RL and agent-based AI; translate findings into production use.
