Job summary

Launch Potato is seeking a senior data scientist to build production models that optimize insurance marketplace matching and bidding strategies. You will own end-to-end modeling, from data discovery to deployment, with an emphasis on robust evaluation and drift handling.

In a remote-first setting spanning multiple time zones, you will collaborate with an ML engineer and business teams to improve ROAS and user outcomes, while expanding to other verticals over time.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on applied data science with measurable business impact.
• Models used to inform paid media decisions: spend, bidding or ad serving.
• Ability to explain loss functions and architecture choices.
• You handle late labels, sparse features or drift in data.
• End-to-end ownership: data discovery, modeling, deployment and monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Build models that decide which carrier to show to each auto insurance shopper.
• Own buying models for media spend and ROAS.
• Develop data pipelines and production-ready models.
• Collaborate with ML engineers on deployment and monitoring.
• Extend models to other verticals over time.
