Job summary

Launch Potato is hiring a senior data scientist to build models that optimize which carrier shoppers see on our insurance marketplace. You will own the end-to-end ML lifecycle, from data gathering to deployment and monitoring, working with an ML engineer on production tasks.

We are remote-first with East Coast hours, focusing on high-impact projects that improve ROAS and marketplace performance. You will frame problems with business context and drive measurable outcomes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on applied data science with measurable business impact.
• Models used to drive paid media decisions: spend, bidding or ad serving; attribution alone doesn't qualify.
• You can explain models down to loss functions and architecture choices, including neural networks.
• You understand how bids shape training data and have handled late labels, sparse features or drift.
• You own models end to end: data, deployment and monitoring, with a point of view.
• Expert Python and SQL.

Responsibilities

• Build production ML models that decide carrier match on the insurance marketplace.
• Own data collection, feature engineering and model validation in collaboration with ML engineers.
• Deploy and monitor models in production, adapt to drift and changing business goals.
• Frame problems with business context and deliver measurable impact.
