Thomson Reuters in the United States is seeking a Senior Applied Scientist to lead end-to-end applied research projects that drive product innovation in legal intelligence, tax automation, or regulatory compliance. You will translate business challenges into technical solutions, determine feasibility, and deliver scalable AI capabilities.
This role includes mentoring scientists and influencing technical direction within your team while growing and scaling impact across the organization.
As a Senior Applied Scientist, you will lead end‑to‑end applied research projects that drive product innovation in legal intelligence, tax automation, or regulatory compliance. You will translate business challenges into technical solutions, determine feasibility, and deliver scalable AI capabilities. This role includes mentoring scientists and influencing technical direction within your team, while starting to grow and scale your impact.
Eligible office location(s) for this role include one or more of the following: New York City, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and/or Irvine, CA; McLean, VA; Washington, DC. The base compensation range for the role in any of those locations is $146,800 USD–$272,600 USD. For any eligible U.S. locations, unless otherwise noted, the base compensation range is $127,400 USD–$236,600 USD. For Ontario, Canada, the base compensation range is $100,000 CAD–$145,000 CAD. Base pay is determined within this range based on factors including knowledge, skills, and experience. Total reward includes flexible benefits and other wellbeing programs. The role may also be eligible for an annual bonus based on performance.
