Job summary

Daikin Applied is seeking an Applied Mechanics Leader in Plymouth, MN, a hybrid role that owns mechanical analysis, simulation, and testing to translate product requirements into robust, manufacturable designs. You will lead a team applying structural, thermal, dynamic, and multiphysics methods to reduce risk and accelerate development.

This role partners with design, materials, manufacturing, and test teams to embed analysis early, validate models, and drive design-for-manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• Deep expertise in structural analysis, fatigue, and materials behavior.
• Experience leading technical teams or programs.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical direction for applied mechanics (structures, fluid flow, acoustics).
• Review analysis plans, models, and results for critical programs.
• Mentor and develop a team of model-based engineers.
• Embed analysis early in design to inform decisions with quantitative insight.
• Support design reviews and root-cause investigations.
