Job summary

Daikin Applied, the world’s largest HVAC company, is hiring an Applied Mechanics Leader in Plymouth, MN, a hybrid role that will own mechanical analysis, simulation, and testing to turn requirements into robust, manufacturable designs.

You will lead a team of analysts applying structural, thermal, dynamic, and multiphysics methods to reduce risk, shorten development cycles, and provide quantitative insight for design decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years in mechanical analysis or applied mechanics with 3+ years leading teams.
• Deep expertise in FEM (ANSYS, Abaqus, Nastran, LS-DYNA) and solid mechanics.
• Experience with fatigue, fracture, and test correlation.
• Experience with CFD and multi-physics analyses.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical direction for applied mechanics across programs.
• Manage a team of model-based engineers and allocate resources.
• Collaborate with design, materials, manufacturing, and test teams.
• Establish validation, verification, and governance for models.
