Job summary

Vantor is seeking a Principal Applied AI Scientist for remote work in the United States. You will design and deploy AI-driven applications that transform large-scale geospatial data into actionable insights, building end-to-end ML pipelines and productionizing multimodal models that combine imagery with structured data.

You will collaborate with domain experts and engineers to deliver scalable, low-latency AI solutions, stay current with foundation models, and contribute to advancing Earth AI

Qualifications

• MS/PhD in CS, ML, AI, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years building and deploying ML systems in production.
• End-to-end ML pipelines including data processing, training automation, eval and scalable inference.
• Hands-on experience with DL models in VLMs, multimodal learning, or reasoning systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy AI-driven apps transforming geospatial data into insights.
• Build end-to-end ML pipelines: ingestion, preprocessing, training, evaluation, production inference.
• Productionize reasoning, multimodal AI systems combining imagery and data.
• Create scalable training and experimentation frameworks with reproducible eval.
• Develop synthetic datasets and test harnesses for robustness.
• Collaborate with domain experts, engineers, PMs, and researchers to translate Earth challenges into solutions.
• Optimize models for scalability, latency, cost, and reliability on cloud infra.
