Job summary

Janus Henderson Investors is hiring a Senior Applied AI Engineer to design and build agentic applications and platform services, taking them from requirements through production and ownership. You will lead end-to-end builds for enterprise AI capabilities, collaborate with Percepta, and ensure governance, observability, and security while delivering reusable components across the firm.

Qualifications

• At least six years in software, data, or platform engineering.
• Production experience with LLM apps and agentic systems.
• Strong Python and SQL, write maintainable code.
• Hands-on experience building agentic capabilities (MCP, tools, skills).
• Hands-on with a major cloud, ideally Azure, incl containers, IaC, CI/CD, RBAC.
• Experience owning services in production with monitoring and incident handling.
• Good judgement in regulated environments for security and privacy.
• Experience mentoring engineers and leading technical work without direct authority.

Responsibilities

• Build and run AI products and shared platform end-to-end.
• Create reusable components, libraries, skills, and connectors.
• Implement infrastructure as code and CI/CD with clear ownership and support.
• Mentor engineers through pairing and code reviews, and set engineering standards.
