Job summary

OpenAI for Government is seeking an AI Architect to be the senior technical owner for a named portfolio of public sector customers. You will guide AI strategy from pre‑sales through deployment, adoption, and measurable mission impact, translating priorities into an actionable portfolio and adoption roadmap.

You will lead the technical strategy and collaborate with deployment, security, product, and partners to deliver secure, scalable AI solutions in a hybrid Washington, DC setting with

Qualifications

• Significant experience in customer-facing technical roles such as solutions architecture, solutions engineering, technical account leadership, AI deployment or technical customer success.
• Experience working with government agencies or public sector organizations and understanding mission priorities, security, governance and procurement considerations.
• Ability to translate complex requirements into practical technical plans and communicate with both executives and hands-on engineers.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical advisor and long‑term technical relationship owner for a named portfolio of public sector customers and pre‑sales prospects.
• Own the technical account plan, milestones, adoption priorities, and expansion opportunities with Account Directors.
• Lead technical evaluations, workshops, and proofs of value to build confidence in production adoption.
• Develop Applied AI Architectures spanning models, data, integration, security, governance, and deployment.
