Job summary

Lam Research is seeking a Senior Applied Intelligence Architect to shape how we select, adapt, evaluate, route, and govern intelligence across enterprise operations, engineering workflows, and product experiences.

You will translate rapid AI research into deployed capabilities delivering measurable business and product outcomes, while ensuring models remain replaceable, governance is by design, and vendor lock-in is minimized.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 12+ years of relevant experience or equivalent.
• Strong communication, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Substantial experience in applied AI, ML systems, architecture, or distributed systems.
• Experience deploying production AI systems using foundation models, multimodal models, or agents.
• Deep understanding of the AI model lifecycle, evaluation, and cost.

Responsibilities

• Own applied intelligence architecture and implementation roadmap across model families.
• Translate requirements into deployable intelligence solutions including routing, context, and deployment patterns.
• Design model-agnostic interfaces and abstraction layers to reduce vendor lock-in.
• Define qualification and evaluation systems for grounded correctness and performance.
• Create reusable patterns for fine-tuning, distillation, and inference optimization.
• Architect closed-loop learning systems for continual improvement.
• Embed governance by design with provenance, auditability, and secure data handling.
• Connect intelligence with enterprise tools and domain workflows through secure services.
• Lead lighthouse programs, architecture reviews, and production transitions.
• Mentor architects and engineers, communicating model and architecture trade-offs.
