Job summary

Tom Trese Networking LLC is seeking an Applications Engineer – Industrial Fluid & Water Treatment in the Rochester, MN area. This full-time/direct-hire role combines engineering problem-solving with field-driven sales, offering a base salary from $75,000 to $125,000 plus uncapped commissions, travel allowance, and full benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, or Environmental)
• 3+ years of technical B2B sales or consultative engineering experience
• Knowledge of industrial water treatment chemistry, boilers, cooling towers, pumps, or fluid handling
• U.S. Citizenship or Green Card holder residing within ~55 minutes of Rochester, MN

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary technical consultant and Territory Manager across SE Minnesota.
• Conduct field assessments for manufacturing plants and industrial sites.
• Evaluate water chemistry metrics and fluid dynamics to design systems.
• Collaborate with plant leadership to engineer upgrades and control systems.
• Manage full sales cycle from prospecting to proposal, closing, and growth.
• Maintain daily field travel and on-site reviews.
• Coordinate with internal teams to optimize equipment configurations.
