Job summary

MKS Instruments, Inc. is seeking a Senior Applications Engineer to partner with R&D, Engineering and customers to develop and launch new products and solutions.

You will report to the Director of Product Management and support VIPS products worldwide. Responsibilities include defining custom configurations, providing quotations, and traveling to customer sites to demonstrate features and assist with installations, all while collaborating with product teams to resolve complex applications

Qualifications

• B.S. in an Engineering or Physical Science field.
• 5+ years in a design, applications, or manufacturing engineering role.
• Excellent interpersonal and communications skills for working with customers and in-house personnel.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for worldwide MKS sales for VIPS products, including product selection, specifying configurations, and troubleshooting.
• Travel to customer sites with local sales and applications staff to discuss features and integration, support testing or installation, or troubleshoot problems.
• Work with Product Managers, Engineers, and Applications Engineers to resolve customer applications issues.
• Define and document special customer configurations based on needs.
• Generate, review and price special configurations, assist with quotations.
• Prepare, conduct, and participate in training programs focusing on product capabilities.
