Job summary

MKS Inc. is seeking a Senior Applications Engineer to partner with R&D, Engineering, and customers to develop and launch new products and solutions. You will report to the Director of Product Management and travel to customer sites as needed.

Responsibilities include providing worldwide technical support for VIPS products, performing demonstrations, and helping with special configurations and quotations. A strong engineering background and hands-on troubleshooting are essential.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Engineering or Physical Science field (mechanical, chemical or electrical preferred).
• 5+ years in design, applications, or manufacturing engineering.
• Excellent interpersonal and communications skills for working with customers and internal staff.
• Experience or ability to learn vacuum technology, pressure control, mass flow controllers, vacuum valves, plasma systems, and system integration.
• Hands-on capability when working at customer sites or in internal labs.
• Proficient with MS Office and general computer skills.
• Willingness to travel ~25% domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for worldwide MKS sales for VIPS products, including product selection, configuring special options, and troubleshooting.
• Travel to customer sites with local sales and applications staff to discuss features, integration, testing or installation.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Engineers and Applications Engineers to run tests or demonstrations resolving customer issues.
• Define and document custom configurations based on customer needs; price quotes with Sales and Customer Service.
• Prepare and participate in training programs focusing on product capabilities and applications.
• Travel up to 50% as required.
