Job summary

Antora Energy seeks a Staff Applications Engineer to establish the applications engineering function, acting as the technical bridge between the product platform and commercial projects. You will size, configure, and lay out systems for diverse sites in the U.S.

and beyond, owning the technical solution from discovery to LOIs and term sheets. You will shepherd the process with business development, project development, product management, and analytics, building playbooks, tools, and a growing

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering with 12+ years in energy projects or 8+ with advanced degree.
• Deep expertise in either thermal/process or power systems with cross-domain fluency.
• Experience with energy storage and/or utility-scale projects.
• Familiar with industrial codes and standards (NFPA, NEC, ASME, API, UL).
• Strong techno-economic intuition and ability to justify design choices.
• Exceptional customer-facing communication and presentation skills.
• Self-directed and able to juggle multiple projects in a startup.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical lead for opportunities, joining business development on calls and owning the technical conversation with customers.
• Run technical discovery and perform data requests, site walkdowns, and initial screenings.
• Size and configure Antora's product for each site within its envelope, balancing performance and cost.
• Produce conceptual site layouts and heat integration designs.
• Own product-side electrical configuration and interconnection interfaces.
• Prepare basis-of-design handoff packages for detailed design.
• Support RFP/RFI responses and objective negotiations with technical exhibits.
• Develop tools with software/AI teams to automate layouts and cost estimates; mentor engineers.
• Travel ~25%, including international travel.
