Job summary

Onto Innovation seeks a Senior Applications Engineer to lead development, validation, and deployment of advanced inspection solutions across wafer inspection and packaging portfolios. You will collaborate with Product Development, Systems Engineering, Software, Algorithms, and Customer-facing teams to transform emerging technologies into scalable, production-ready customer solutions.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant engineering or science field with required experience in semiconductor inspection or metrology.
Strong data-driven problem solving with ability to translate customer needs into technical solutions.
Experience collaborating across multinational teams and presenting to customers and stakeholders.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Lead development and optimization of advanced inspection recipes for defect detection, classification, process monitoring, and yield improvement.
Design customer-focused workflows and establish Best Known Methods for global deployment across inspection platforms.
Lead application characterization, validation, and qualification for new products and roadmap technologies.
Lead technical demonstrations for customers and executive reviews, and support strategic engagements.
Collaborate with Systems, Optics, Software, Algorithms, Product Management, Marketing, and Business Units.
