Job summary

Element Solutions in Wilmington, DE seeks a Sr. R&D Applications Engineer to lead paste deposition development for Active Copper, advancing from Early to Capable and deployment.

You will mentor the Wilmington team and partner with R&D Innovation in San Jose as well as PCB/IC Substrate experts in Waterbury to deliver high-quality processes. The role requires an MS with 7+ years or a BS with 11+ years in electronics manufacturing or materials science, coupled with DOE/ Six Sigma experience and

Qualifications

• MS with 7+ years or BS with 11+ years in electronics manufacturing, materials science, or related field.
• Direct experience with printing, dispensing, sintering, and plating equipment.
• Proficiency in DOE, Six Sigma, or related methodologies.
• Experience mentoring or supervising junior technical staff.
• Ability to link business strategy, customer applications, and technical knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Lead full development of paste deposition process with quality/consistency.
• Mentor Wilmington R&D Applications team and develop SMEs.
• Integrate processes into full board builds: preplate, sinter, post-plate, planarization.
• Design and run systematic studies using printing, deposition, and sinter equipment.
• Engage with customers during technical reviews and troubleshooting sessions.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D Innovation, metrology, and Business Development.
• Create technical reports and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
