Job summary

Element Solutions in Wilmington, DE seeks an Applications Engineer to support ActiveCopper development for paste deposition and sintering. You will execute experiments, optimize process parameters, and contribute to improving equipment configurations and qualification efforts for customer boards.

You will work with Sr. R&D Applications Engineer to advance technical paths, and develop expertise in paste deposition and sinter processes while ensuring safety and quality in testing and documentation.

Qualifications

• MS with 3+ years of relevant experience or BS with 5+ years in electronics manufacturing, chemistry, or materials science.
• Education in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Knowledge of printing, dispensing, sintering or plating equipment; vacuum-assisted printing or PCB sinter press is a plus.
• Strong technical acumen and ability to apply knowledge to solve problems.
• Ability to design experiments and interpret results; DOE familiarity preferred.
• Understand customer use of MAES products and value proposition of ActiveCopper.

Responsibilities

• Execute studies to develop paste deposition with standardized sinter parameters.
• Apply DOE principles under guidance of Sr. R&D Applications Engineer.
• Perform DOE evaluations on paste and sinter processes for different boards.
• Analyze data and prepare technical reports for internal and customer audiences.
• Utilize metrology tools (SEM, AOI, X-ray) to characterize deposits and sinter quality.
• Collaborate with R&D, Application Qualification, and metrology teams to troubleshoot issues.
