Job summary

Quidient is seeking a senior Applications Engineer to own and evolve the Quidient Reality Engine across desktop, web, and platform layers.

This hybrid role is based near Columbia, MD, with autonomy to drive API integrations, 3D rendering workflows, and cross‑team collaboration.

You will work with Python, C++, and modern tools, contributing to performance, reliability, and cutting-edge immersive tech.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• 8+ years of experience building, mainting, owning complex software applications.
• Strong diagnostic and debugging skills across application layers.
• Proficiency in Python and C++.
• Experience designing and implementing API integrations.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
• Meet security requirements including background check, citizenship verification, and CJIS verification.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain applications that span desktop, web, and backend systems.
• Architect and implement API integrations connecting application layers to core engine and infrastructure services.
• Develop interactive features for 3D content, rendering pipelines, and graphics-driven workflows.
• Drive cross-platform experiences enabling dynamic visualization and interaction.
• Own application reliability, performance, and diagnostic tooling across the stack.
• Work on cross-platform user experiences that enable dynamic visualization and interaction.
