You will implement cutting‑edge papers and run end‑to‑end experiments across 3D domains such as geometry‑based defect detection and neural rendering. The role requires 6+ years in deep learning research, strong C++/Python skills, and PyTorch proficiency, with on‑site work in Columbia, MD in a hybrid setup.

Qualifications

• Master’s or PhD in CS/EE/ML or related field; graduate‑level deep learning theory required.
• 6+ years of deep learning research and engineering experience; ability to design, train, and evaluate architectures from scratch.
• Deep domain expertise in at least one of: light transport, 3D vision, or SLAM.
• Ability to read, evaluate, and implement current DL papers (CVPR, NeurIPS, ICLR, ICML) and translate to systems.
• Strong software engineering in C++ and Python, with PyTorch proficiency.
• Willingness to work on-site in Columbia, MD, in a hybrid capacity.
• Meet security requirements including background checks.

Responsibilities

• Design and train novel deep neural networks from scratch for reconstruction tasks.
• Implement state‑of‑the‑art papers and adapt architectures to production challenges.
• Identify gaps in the reconstruction pipeline and propose neural network solutions.
• Design and maintain rigorous evaluation pipelines with real‑world captures.
• Run end‑to‑end experiments from hypothesis to data prep, training, and evaluation.
• Bridge DL methods with geometric/physical foundations of the platform; apply domain expertise.
